Hi, everyone! I was delighted to hear from the search committee that Brechin has voted in favour of their recommendation to invite me into ministry with you.
I've marked the occasion with the purchase of a candle. This is the candle I will light in prayer for all of you, and Sally; and for Knox and I as we journey towards my departure on June 23rd. I suspect these days will seem to stretch on, and also somehow fly by in an instant. May we all know the challenge, inspiration and deep peace of Spirit's presence in this time of transition.
Here in Fernie, I'm serving a small and lovely congregation. Alongside the usual suspects- Sunday worship, prayer shawl group, UCW and study groups- Knox is engaging in the Affirming process, exploring shared ministry with our Anglican neighbours, seeking grant funding for the support of a cherished heritage building, and deepening our care for one another and the whole community. It has been a tremendous blessing to serve these folks, and to be encouraged by them in the final years of my formal studies. With my unwind time these days I'm skiing as much as possible before the snow melts, enjoying the arts and culture events of a resort town in winter, and trying to use up my stash of clay at the pottery studio!
I don't plan to be in touch besides these occasional letters, but know I will be holding you all in prayer, and looking forward to meeting you in July.
Yours in Christ, Tif.
