Hello everyone, Tif here! I'm starting to understand the flow of things around the office, and our fall programs are soon to start, which I'm very much looking forward to. In the meantime, let's take some time to do something social and creative together!

I'd like to felt some art for the office. You are invited to drop in and share in some refreshments, help with felting or stitching, or generally keep us company.

If you want to participate in the felting, I recommend you bring:

-A thick, absorbent hand towel

-Rubber gloves

-Sharp, long scissors

All other materials we need will be provided.

Please note: We will be using unscented natural soap for the felting process, as well as sheep's wool and silk which, when wet, some find irritating or triggering.

Dates:

Tuesday August 27th 1-5 pm

Thursday September 5th 2-6 pm

What is felting?

Felting (or fulling) is an ancient practice of creating a fabric from loose wool fibres which have been drawn together with water, soap and agitation, or perhaps sculpted with barbed needles. This process has been used around the world to create tapestries, sculptures, rugs, clothing and footwear, even yurts! There are many stages to the felting process, and many different ways to contribute to a felted tapestry. Please check in with Tif if you have any questions.
