For the past fifteen years, Brechin United has served as Nanaimo’s largest and busiest satellite depot for Loaves & Fishes Food Bank, serving roughly 400 households each month. Every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00-2:30 our doors are open to anyone who is hungry and needing nourishing food. Hospitality is also extended in the form of a hot beverage and a snack.
We take seriously Christ’s mandate to “Feed my sheep” and recognize that our 50+ volunteers are also fed in the process of serving others, hearing their stories and being transformed by their experiences. While many of our volunteers are from Brechin, many others are neighbours from the wider community.
